UM3750 Encoder/Decoder (SEP77H)

R42.34

UM3750 Programmable Encoder/Decoder

The UM3750 is a CMOS/LSI digital transmitter/receiver system.

In the tx mode, the UM3750 will sequentially encode and transmit 12 bits of input. Each bit may be 1 or 0, allowing up to 4096 different codes.

In the receiver decode mode the incoming signal is compared to the local code in a sequetial manner. Any error will reset and and begin it''''s comparison on the next word. If all 12 bits are received correctly, a ''''valid'''' signal is generated. The signal clears a 64mS counter and triggers a 3-stage counter. The 3-stage counter counts the valid pulses and when 4 pulses have been detected, the TX/RX pin goes low, the next ''''valid'''' must be received within 128mS, otherwise the TX/RX outpiut will be disabled.

Supplied in a 16-pin DIL package.

Features Include:
Encoder/Decoder on same chip
3-11V operation
On-board oscillator uses non-critical components
Schmitt Trigger inputs
Applications include Remote Control, Alarm Systems, Control System, Cordless Telephone
Interfaces with RF, Infra-Red or Ultrasonic modulators and demodulators
